Yong Foundation Donates Life-Saving Equipment
Yong Foundation donated AUD $23,579 to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital to fund a microdialysis pump and dialysis chairs—critical equipment not covered by public funding. This marks another milestone in their long-term partnership supporting medical research in areas like neonatal care, mental health, and kidney treatment.
Founded by Peter Huang in 2009, Yong Foundation continues to make a lasting impact on healthcare innovation in Australia.
2015 Best Christmas gift to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital
Yong Fund, a subsidiary of Yong Group, sent the best Christmas gift to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
On September 12, 2015, the Yong Foundation held a small donation ceremony at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH). Attendees included Professor Jeffrey Lipman, Director of the Burns and Trauma Critical Care Unit at the RBWH; Karen Gallagher and Cathy Yang of the RBWH Foundation; Sue Ellis, Chief Operating Representative of the Yong Group; Tom Zhang, Yong Group’s annual sales champion; and Harvey Huang, son of Yong Group founder Peter Huang.

This time, the Yong Foundation donated another $23,579 to purchase some equipment that the Royal Hospital urgently needs but as a public hospital does not have the budget to purchase. This includes a microdialysis pump and two special high-end renal dialysis chairs.
Professor Lipman explained that they have conducted extensive research and achieved remarkable results in using microdialysis technology to administer antibiotics to patients in a timely and appropriate manner, effectively controlling infections and saving lives. The newly acquired microdialysis pump, the second and only antibiotic-dispensing device in Australia, will help administer antibiotics more promptly and accurately, saving even more lives. Professor Lipman expressed his sincere gratitude to the Yong Foundation, saying, "With Christmas approaching, this microdialysis pump is a wonderful Christmas gift for the hospital and our patients."
High-end dialysis chairs significantly improve the comfort and convenience of patients with end-stage renal failure during their lengthy treatment, reducing pain and enabling nurses to better manage their treatment needs remotely. Typically, terminally ill patients spend up to 15 hours a week in these chairs, with each treatment lasting more than five hours.
The connection between the Yong Foundation and the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital Foundation (established in 1985) dates back to the early 1990s. Peter Huang, the founder of the Yong Foundation, made multiple personal donations to the Royal Hospital Foundation during that time. The formal collaboration between the two foundations began in 2000. The donated funds have primarily supported innovative research at the Royal Hospital, including projects focused on neonatal disease prevention and research, mental health studies, brain research, renal dialysis, and extensive burn treatments.
Moving forward, the Yong Foundation will continue its long-term partnership with the Royal Hospital Foundation, striving to fund as many research activities in the medical field as possible. The aim is to provide better support for patients and the experts and healthcare professionals who care for them.
Established in 2009, the Yong Foundation was founded by Peter Huang, the founder of Yong Real Estate. At its inception, Peter initially donated $397,000 as seed funding. Additionally, 0.2% of the total commissions from each sale made by the sales teams of the Yong Group is contributed to the foundation to ensure its sustainable operation.
The Yong Foundation is dedicated to supporting medical research, with the ultimate goal of making a positive difference in the world where we live and work.
The Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital is the largest public hospital in the Southern Hemisphere, accommodating over 700,000 cases annually.
